Services

The Adult Services Division provides services to vulnerable adults living in Harris County who are no longer able to care for themselves, need assistance managing their affairs, or are senior victims of crime. These services are provided through three programs:

Guardianship Program serves as the public guardian to adults who are deemed incapacitated by the Probates Courts due to age, mental and/or physical disabilities. Case managers oversee and manage the client’s daily needs, medical care, housing, finances and property.

Senior Justice Assessment Center (SJAC) addresses the complex needs of senior (60 and older) victims of crime, abuse, neglect and exploitation by collaborating with a team of experts in geriatric, forensic and psychiatric medicine, civil and criminal prosecution, law enforcement, protective services and social services.

Representative Payee Program is a voluntary program designed to assist eligible, low-income Harris County adults who are elderly, physically or mentally disabled, with financial management so they can live independently.
