Community Youth Development

Community Youth Development (CYD) aims to decrease existing juvenile crime in the communities, as determined by Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The state funds are granted to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and TRIAD chooses and manages the subcontractors who deliver the CYD services to youth in the community.

The Pasadena CYD programs are currently available to youth ages 10 to 17 who live in or attend school in zip codes 77506. Services are also available to any student who attends the following schools:

Pasadena High School
Sam Rayburn High School
South Houston High School
Tegeler Career Center
De Zavala Middle School
Jackson Intermediate
Southmore Intermediate School

CYD addresses situations that lead to juvenile crime. Examples of available services include:

After school programs
Summer programs
Self-esteem courses
Leadership development
Life skills
Support groups
Youth Advisory Committee (YAC)

CYD services are free to Pasadena residents.

If you or a youth you know is in need of CYD services, contact Selenia Amaya (Pasadena CYD Coordinator) 713-274-6071.
